ROBERT M. LATORREAGE: 79 WHITING. Robert M. LaTorre, 79, of Pine Ridge South, Whiting, Manchester, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills. Born in Newark, NJ he lived in Toms River for many years before moving to Whiting in 1996. Bob was the host of the Saturday morning radio show on WOBM AM for 3 years. He was involved in many organizations such as the United Way of Ocean County; and the Toms River Chamber of Commerce, and was a board member of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School. Bob also served as Director of Public Relations for Seaside Heights, NJ and was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. Bob was predeceased by his son Thomas in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Edith; his daughter Kim and John Mooney of Whiting; 2 sons Michael and Alisa of Toms River; and Marc and Donna of Virginia; his sister Gloria Tait of Florida; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Wed. November 3, 2010 from 6-8pm at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting. A Memorial Service will be held at 8pm on Wed. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks 1060 State Road 2nd Floor Princeton, NJ 08540.
