As I was saying, BEFORE I was so rudely interrupted.

OPEN PETITION TO WOBM MANAGEMENT

PLEASE give Bob Levy his Gold Watch, and let him enjoy his Golden Years in either Key West, Florida, or, Barrow, Alaska (his choice).

Secondly, turn the "Topic 'A'" microphone over to Kevin Williams, the heir apparent, and the People's Choice.

Bob,

I am so glad you have a blog now.

Yes, I am a Republican, and yes, I use to listen to Bob Levy’s Topic A every Sunday morning. My husband I had been listening since the early eighties. Steve Paul and Kevin Williams were the morning hosts and Joe Rao was the weatherman.

You pride yourself in your opening monologue that anyone can call about anything they want, and you don’t screen your calls or ask for the nature of their calls and blah, blah, blah.

I have wanted to call you ever since what you did to Chris, but instead I will post my feelings on your blog.

Who complained about Chris, was it Jack, Herb and Mike? Oh, and callers who hung up while Chris was on, big deal. Maybe they were first or only one time callers where as Chris was a weekly staple to your show. He generated calls; he infuriated Jack (which I got so much pleasure out of). So, the right thing to do to your complainers was to say, hey Chris is a loyal listener and caller and I really don’t care what you think. Instead you caved in to their wishes.

You might as well have banned Chris than limit his calls to two minutes. Banning him would have been the more civil thing to do. How much can a person say in two minutes? Why do you think he hasn’t called since? I think the answer to that easy. If someone did that to you, would you ever call again? No, you would feel like a fool if you did.

I would like for your next show to limit all your callers to two minutes and see how many would call back the following week. It would also shorten your show to a half-hour in length.

I like how you justify to yourself what you did to Chris was okay, and I guess limiting his calls to two minutes was okay too. I think maybe your suffering the guilt that what you did to Chris was wrong but you can’t bring yourself to admit it. Gee, just like President Bush can't admit the war in Iraq was a mistake. Right Bob?

What other caller would have left New Jersey and move to Arizona and still continue to call? I can tell you. NOT MANY!

I miss Chris, and I am not alone.

Good riddance Bob Levy. You have lost two longtime faithful listeners.

No, wait a minute. Maybe I will continue to listen to your show, but only the first two minutes.

Whew, glad I got that off my chest.

Bob,
I missed the call from the woman with grandchildren in Georgia. Did anyone suggest she contact Congressman Chris Smith? Maybe he can find out the status of the grandkids. This is the type of constituent service that congressmen provide.
Regards,
Paul Brush

Due to the increasingly disrespectful nature of several comments to the Topic A blog, they have been deleted. In keeping with the Topic A tradtion of unsceened calls, comments will continue to be posted without any screening.

However, much as a caller who gets abusive, disrespectful or personal will often have their call ended, comments of a similar nature will be deleted from the Topic A blog.

I am not sure if this blog went through the first time. This may be a 2nd posting- Herb

"William" is having a "good old time" bloging and finger writing with himself. Topic A needs him back on the infamous Sunday talks how because he does more than spout ideological spin. He does think with a bit of humor.

I am not so concerned about Edward's affair. Stupid, but it is not public policy. I am more concerned about the events in Georgia folks. That’s not the state in “good old Dixie” but in the Southern Caucasus in Asia former USSR.

South Ossetia and Abkhazia in Georgia have a large Russian population who identify ethnically with Russia. They broke away from Georgia and favor connection with Russian culture.

Historically Russia has always feared encirclement, which they experienced prior to WWI, By Hitler’s Germany and by USA-led-alliances during the Cold war. Post cold war diplomacy on the part of the USA appear to the Russians as encirclement, in particular Georgia’s intention to join NATO. Georgia is on the Russian border, in their sphere of influence and interest. It is not an area where we could prevail militarily without a disastrous major war. The Russian government has long viewed itself as the protector of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which have broken away from the central government in Georgia. The peoples of the former USSR are very nationalistic and have been fighting each other for decades. This is not a geographical area which we can police. Ironically, we invaded a sovereign country to impose our way of life. A country called Iraq. Taking out the Taliban was one thing but we are not going to remake Afghanistan into a miniature New England Democracy? I just wish our politicians paid attention in their history classes. The world would be a much better place if George W Bush had some understanding of history and culture of the countries he has invaded. I am afraid McCain with his cowboy culture would over react to the situation. This is an issue for quiet diplomacy and rational thought. It is also a European affair in which they must take the lead. How can the USA cannot police the world when we cannot even police the border with Mexico.

Lets keep this crisis a matter of rational foreign policy discussion and not ideological political spin.

TO: "Yes I am a Republican". (Carol) posted 8/10/08 at ll:48 am.

A quick note to inform you that I might disagree with Chris’s positions but I would never complain about him to have him banned. This kind of censorship runs counter to my firm belief in the first amendment. It seems you want to attack the messenger and not hear the message. Bob Levy never banned Chris. He has often limited my calls during peak caller time, which is fair. I believe he bends over backwards to be fair. I wonder if Rush Limbaugh would be so accommodating.

Yesterday (Friday, August 15th, 2008), after 19 years on the radio airwaves, together, the "Mike & The Mad Dog" radio/TV show came to an end. The end of an era! The sad part about it is, EVEN on a BAD day, Mike & Chris were BETTER than Bob Levy, on the BEST day of his life! Okay, Dan, take it down.
I'm being ABUSIVE, again!
