From the News Desk of Tom Mongelli:

Opponents of Mayor Ron Jones in Beachwood are in the midst of a 10-day window to challenge the Borough Clerk's decision on their petitions to recall the Mayor from office. The disqualification of 176 signatures leaves them short of the required number to place the question before voters in November. If they don't succeed, organizers say they'll aim for a special election - which involves extra expense.
.
Ocean County College dedicates John Bartlett Hall on Monday. Bartlett now follows in the august footsteps of Mike Ritacco as Ocean County's other living administrator and educator to be commemorated with a building.

.
New Jersey's 12th Congressional District candidates stage back-toback town-hall style meetings Wednesday at the Middletown Arts Center. .
Project Porchlight - the energy efficiency program that has set up a headquarters in Lacey - spreads to Jackson. Volunteers are going door-to-door August 29th, distributing compact fluorescent bulbs.
.
Just a reminder - Over The Limit, Under Arrest continues through Labor Day. Watch yourself on the roads. Checkpoint patrols don't limit themselves to drunken drivers. Be sure you're belted, that you've got your license, registration and insurance card, and watch the speed limits.

• Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed!
• Page 30: A government committee will decide what treatments and benefits you get (and, unlike an insurer, there will be no appeals process)
• Page 42: The "Health Choices Commissioner" will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None.
• Page 50: All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.
• Page 58: Every person will be issued a National ID Healthcard.
