Having spent my whole life living and working on the waters of Barnegat Bay, Having addressed three times the NJ Marine Trades Association on the issue and having read EPA and DEPE papers and proposals on the Bay. Even 15 years ago they were proposing severe restrictions on the recreational use of the bay including speed restrictions horsepower restrictions as well as fishing, clamming, harvesting of marine flora and fauna. Additional restrictions would be on homeowner use of fertilizer, pesticides within a certain proximity of the Barnegat Bay Watershed which extends all the way to Jackson, New Egypt, Whitesville, Manchester. The MTA felt that the marine industry would be extremely adversly affected.
