From the NEWS desk of Tom Mongelli:

Monday 1/31: Toms River Citizens Action Committee on Childhood Cancer Cluster meets at Toms River Town Hall, 6 pm. EPA staffers present findings of a 10-year study of water toxicity on lab rats. It’s expected to indicate that leukemia risks are receding. But Chairwoman Linda Gillick contends that given the toxicity of the “landfill” on the Ciba site, their work is nowhere near done.

· Wednesday 2/2 – Brick Elks Media Appreciation Day. I really have no idea why they’re doing this, but I believe we’ll learn of their fundraising initiatives for 2011.

· Friday 2/11 – Sustainable Energy-Sustainable Economy Conference, Monmouth University. Margot Walsh at the Jersey Shore Partnership is spearheading this forum, so it’s very promising.

· Tuesday 2/15 – Shore Mayors’ Anti-Gang Conference, Beachwood Borough Hall. Mayor Ron Jones insists that this will happen, and he’s also indicated that WOBM will be the only broadcast medium allowed inside.

· Thursday 2/24 – Ask The Congressman; Jon Runyan taking your calls in the Bob Levy Broadcast Center starting at 6.

· Friday 2/25 – Job Fair, Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.
