Hey, Paul, if I go to Bob Kislin's World of Sports, and purchase a baseball catcher's mask (to protect my face from a punch in the mouth), is my personal invitation to return (to Bob's studio, which I got in 1996) ANYTIME I WANT, still valid? Check with Bob, first. I've got some "issues" I want to go over with our illustrious host. Photographs. Visual aids included, THAT kind of stuff. Is Iraq STILL "Topic 'A?'" Afghanistan? Gitmo? Barack Obama?
Are WE planning on getting Roden Lightbody on the program, anytime soon? Can we give the Liberal "minority" a break, here?
Are local issues, okay? I've been AWAY for awhile, I don't KNOW what is taboo, anymore!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

Paul, are we STILL blaming Bushie for EVERYTHING?? We had the Teflon Don (John Gotti), now we seem to have the Teflon President, Barack Obama!! Is "Phil," from Stalingrad (one of the Three Bolsheviks), calling for Barack's likeness to be carved into Mount Rushmore, yet? Your earliest reply is anticipated!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

Why did "they" tear down the Olde Time Tavern (where George Washington USED to eat), but leave the old, abandoned Motor Vehicles Inspection Station, ALONE???

Bill, from Toms River said...

We have "Open Space Acquisition" sites, ALL OVER TOMS RIVER!! However, you NEVER see ANY people, there, enjoying the "benefits."
WHY??
You NEVER see ANY children playing, there, either. The sites are overrun with bushes, and littered with garbage.
WHY IS THIS???
Were these Open Space Acquisition deals, or were they "bail-outs?"
A "fat cat" owned the deed on a piece of property, he/or she paid taxes on it, but they NEVER could develop it. Enter the Toms River Committee, who bought it using taxpayer money. Seven years later, it's STILL idle property. Toms River abandoned its Open Space Committee, YEARS AGO. NO MASTER PLANS!!!

Hey, Bob? Ask me IF I like fiction? Yes, I love the four-color, process political ad's that I get in my mailbox, every fall. You know, "Vote for the Democrats," or "Vote for the Republicans." FICTION!!! Ten years ago they BOTH said that they were going to get rid of gridlock traffic at the Route 37 & 166 intersection. THEY LIED!!! Have YOU traveled the Route 166/9 corridor, lately? You did??? Did you enjoy it???

Bill, from Toms River said...

New York City has its infamous Five Families: Lucchese, Genovese, Gambino, Colombo and Bonanno. Tom River has its Two Families: Perlmutter and Donofrio.
Why is that ugly, White Elephant of a shopping center STILL causing us a traffic SNAFU? You know, The old, abandoned Dover Theatre, and the old, dilapidated shopping center, itself!! It's been OVER ten year's, now! It's where traffic GOES TO DIE!!! The Two Families have a Master Plan? Where IS it?? Why CAN'T we condemn it, Eminent Domain??

Bill, from Toms River said...

I traveled the Route 166/9 corridor, last week, and it wasn't pleasant. Half the time I was on the shoulder of the road, yielding to motorists who were making left-hand turns. Route 9 dates back to the Great Depression Days. Why IS this???!!! This IS the year 2010, is it not???

bbheyer@aol.com, is my e-mail address (one of 'em, anyway!).
(732) 581-0610 is my telephone number (one of 'em, anyway!). Surprise me, give me a call. If I don't hear from you (that's MY guess), I'll know it's because you STILL want to punch, thrash and rip the Iraq, Afghanistan and Gitmo story some more. They've been pinata's on THIS show for going on a decade, now!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

QUESTION: What IS a "show within a show?" It's whenever "Phil," from Stalingrad, "Jack," from Leningrad OR "Herb," from Moscow calls. They ALL have their pre-determined times to call!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

"Robert," from Toms River: "Hey, Bob, I want to talk about some local issues."

Bob Levy: "I don't DO local." CLICK!!

Bob Levy: "Give me a call, get it OFF your chest. Talk about what YOU want to talk about."

Yeah, SURE!!

Why does the BID (Toms River Business Improvement District office, 218 Main Street)) have its OWN, FREE parking lot, but the merchants that pay into it have to use metered parking, ON THE STREET?
Imagine, bartenders at Jack Baker's Restaurant (making minimum-wage) have to move their cars around, or put extra quarters into the meters, at periodic intervals during the day. WHAT does the BID, DO??!! I'd REALLY like to KNOW!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

Red Bank, New Jersey, has a THRIVING downtown business area. Toms River? Nah, they STILL roll the sidewalks up at five o'clock, on a Friday afternoon. Thank you, Business Improvement District!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

Former Toms River Mayor, Paul Brush, proposed a River Walk along the scenic Toms River, once upon a time. In 2006, I walked the River Walk, in Wilmington, North Carolina. It WAS majestic!! It WAS magnificent!! WHY didn't it happen, here??!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

Ocean County, NJ, is the fastest-growing county in the state, but it DOESN'T have its OWN newspaper!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

I'll betcha' that Bob Levy has NEVER, EVER given a moment's thought to ANY of the things I just posted about, here. Have you, Bob??!!

Bill, from Toms River said...

Oh, oh, oh, those "Open Space" sites I talked about, earlier? Taxpayers get a Double Whammy. We're sitting on property we don't get to enjoy, plus they've been taken OFF the tax rolls! That's right, "government" DOESN'T pay taxes on itself. ONLY taxpayers pay taxes!!!

Paul said...

I hear your frustration. As an Ocean county resident myself, and I look around, theres not a day that goes by that I wonder where my tax dollars are going(the guy I voted for didnt get in).

I've been across this great country of ours many times, seen many beautiful places. Places that the taxes are cheeper, the cost of living is cheeper, the air is cleanner and the nights are quieter. (2 acres in Hawaii pays less taxes than I do for my lot). So why do I live here? Because its where I call home.

All that traffic, abandoned buildings and trash on the side of the roads is just PROGRESS, its what makes New Jersey, and theres nothing anyone can do to stop it. Its going to happen long after WE are gone from here.

"Traveled the Route 166/9 corridor, last week, and it wasn't pleasant."
Where did you think you were?
Its South Toms River, not the Grand Tetons.

Why doesnt NJ have a bottle redemtion?

If everyone paired up with their neighbor on garbage day, the garbage truck would make half as many stops in a day.

What makes you think Bob has any influence on anyone to get all those things you mentioned done?
You got a better chance calling the 700 club.

Who do YOU think is the best man (or woman) to get the job done?

Whats that guy you voted for doing to solve Toms River/NJ/USA/Worlds problems?

Thats what I thought.
The same as my guy.

You want to see a true renassance man? Take a ride up or down Rt. 9 between Bayville and Forked River any time of day. You will see a little old man with a plastic bag picking up garbage. You cant miss him, he has no hat, no jacket, just a desire to pick up garbage off the side of the road. Thats a man on a mission, and hes doing something about it.

Action speaks louder than words.

Thanks for your comments and keep them coming!

Bill, I will check into that invite.

Bill, from Toms River said...

Paul, forgive me. I failed to realize WHERE I WAS. I'm complaining about relatively small problems:

1) Traffic

2) Litter

3) Political graft

4) Misuse of power

On "Topic 'A,'" you guys SOLVE the REALLY BIG problems;

1) Iraq

2) Afghanistan

3) Gitmo

4? The deification of Barack Hussein Obama

Forget it, pal, I'll just take MY issues, elsewhere:

1) Sean Hannity

2) Bill O'Reilly

3) Glenn Beck

4) Asbury Park Press

Thanks for at least skimming MY ramblings!

Thirty years, ago, Bob WAS that little, old man standing next to Route 9, cleaning up garbage. I was there with him. Ask him, sometime, about "Operation Pride."
Did we change things? Yeah, for ONE DAY!!

Paul said...

No need to apologize....thats what the blog is all about! Get your message out there...get it off your chest. All your rants are viable problems. How do citizens get those problems solved is the real question.

Belive me...there are plenty of times I leave that studio with a bloody lip.

Topic A isnt out there to solve problems, its out there to get your voice to be heard....(I know...I know....Im working on that...but he is getting better).

SO WHAT if the show tends to lean a little...Chris and Gloria didnt give in.

Strength is in numbers.

Bill youre the first "commenter" that has gotten me to get it off my chest. And for that I thank you.

Can't WAIT for Bob to have to come to grips w/ the fact that his hero Mike Ritacco is going down. Home and offices raided by FBI this morning.

Bill, from Toms River said...

Joe, Bob Levy won't say a word about it. It's a "Local Issue," and Bob has a steadfast rule on his show: "I don't get into local issues, on my show, they just cause me problems, here!!" In other words: More Iraq, more Afghanistan and more Gitmo!

JoeFromTomsRiver said...

Bill, be listening at 7am this coming Sunday. I plan on being on very early because of this specific issue. There is no way Bob can get away with squashing this story, I don't think he will try to do so, but if he does, he will be called out on it will look absolutely ridiculous. I respect Bob, but if he is wishy-washy on this and won't discuss it, you can add ME to the list of people who won't call anymor.
